Hello girls,
Click on this link to read the percent word problems and solve them on graph paper. You do not need to print out the page. We will be starting a quick unit on percent as a review before we get into probability.
See you tomorrow,

Advanced 7 Weekend Homework Feb. 8
So, I thought a bit about our surface area lesson this morning, and I came up with an interesting (yet short!) research project for us (and that includes me as well). I thought of several rectangular prisms that are "famous" which we could find the surface area of. Here's your homework:

Advanced 7- 60 Minutes Robot Snippet
Hello girls,
Watch the following 60 minutes clip, or read the article about the segment from Sunday night's episode:
http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-18560_162-57563618/are-robots-hurting-job-growth/?pageNum=3
Answer the following on a separate piece of paper (typed if you wish):
(1) Do you think that the rapid increase of the use of robots for human jobs is a good thing? Why or why not?
(2) Right now, many manufacturing companies in America use parts made in China and other countries. Is this a good or bad thing for the economy and the employment possibilites in our country?
(3) Do you think it's possible for robots to develop intelligence that would surpass human intelligence? Why or why not?
(4) In the field of STEM, teachers are inspiring students to study engineering and technology. Some students will go on to college and major in engineering at "science-focused" schools like MIT. What does the chance of employment look like for these students?
(5) Students who DON'T major in engineering, or maybe even don't attend college, may not be eligible for jobs like programming and designing robots. Their jobs may be eliminated because robots will do the jobs they are qualified for. What is your opinion of this situation in the future?

eCybermission - and hope you're okay!
Hi girls! I hope all of you are safe, as well as your families. Yes, no school for us I'm sure has given way to getting up late and enjoying no homework. But let's not forget to pray for those less fortunate than we are who have lost almost everything in this natural disaster. It makes having no homework a whole lot less important than having no bed to go home to.
For those of you involved in the eCybermission project, I was informed on Edmodo.com that the second group's name was Forensic Science. I don't know if that's still the case, but the group shows up as incomplete on the teacher's side of the site. We can correct that later in the week or next week.
Once again, I'm praying for all of you.
