My dear 8th Grade,
I want to congratulate our new Student Council Members for the 2012-2013 school year. I'm sure you will make it a fantastic one! I hope you'll help me in my "quest" to promote STEM education to women.
I also want to congratulate every girl who ran for office and had the courage to stand up and deliver her speech to our Principal, faculty, and your peers. That really takes a lot of guts! I wanted to run for Student Council president in my grammar school, but I was too afraid to speak in front of that huge audience. (I went to public school so there was quite a few more students to speak in front of in a VERY big auditorium!) So I'm extremely proud of all of you, and you deserve all the praise in the world.
